This is How You Lead with Impact
Bo Short is Neora’s new Chief Sales Officer and will oversee the U.S. and global sales teams, managing and direct all Neora’s salesforces in markets throughout North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe.

Let’s Start with Introductions

My Neora journey officially started in January of this year. I’ve received such a warm welcome and I can’t thank everyone enough for it. Since day one, I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the friendly and positive atmosphere here at Neora headquarters as well as in the field. And, I’m honored to be part of this great Neora family and culture. I look forward to working with our incredible field leaders as we continue to grow sales and strengthen Brand Partner training so that we can raise leaders across the globe to help others achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

As I’m sitting here at our offices in Addison, Texas, I realize how blessed I am. I have so many things to be grateful for. For one, I’m married to the most wonderful woman on the planet. My wife, Roni, is my inspiration. I have two beautiful daughters, Taylor and Rachel. And, I work in an industry with endless opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. Life is good but there’s always room to grow!

Before Neora

I have spoken to more than a million people in 34 countries across the globe on the topics of leadership development and success. I’ve written and published two books on the same topic. I want to share with you a few things that I have learned on this journey that has led me to you:

1. Your Best Self is Yet to Come

I’m a firm believer that who you were in the past and who you are now is nothing compared to who you can become. During my travels around the globe, I’ve met many people satisfied with living comfortable lives. Making the decision to stay within your comfort zone is your choice and that’s OK. That’s where it’s safe. However, personally, I don’t want to live a life that’s comfortable. I want to live a life that’s significant. In the short time that I’ve been with Neora, I’ve met many people who want the same thing!

For this reason, I’ve made it my personal mission to share with others what I’ve learned in all my years of experience: each individual’s best and highest self is all that is necessary to take the first step toward accomplishing what it is they want. I want people to understand that their best and highest effort is all that is needed to get started in creating the significance they desire for their lives. If nothing else, people — and especially, the amazing team here at Neora — should know that your past becomes irrelevant if you’re fixed on where it is you want to go. Together, I believe we can reach new heights!

2. Lead with Impact

In an ongoing effort to motivate others to reach their full potential, I often speak about the importance of leading with impact. The truth is that to lead with impact is not necessarily a message only intended for those of you interested in leadership within a company –  it’s a message anyone can apply to their lives. Leading with impact is all about how you conduct your own life while pursuing growth. Think about it this way — to lead with impact can also simply be a reflection of your true self and how you conduct yourself as a parent, a friend, a peer, and even a partner.  It all comes down to how you want to grow as an individual and positively lead in your personal and professional life.

3. Part of the Process

When people fail at something, for some reason, they start to believe that they’re a failure. You should know (and must accept!) that failure is just part of the process. What’s important is the lesson learned. Always keep in mind that you must fail to continue your pursuit of becoming your best self. That’s the truth!

4. Words Matter

I’m a big believer that words matter. There’s power in words. You can make the decision to either build people up or tear them down. My goal is to make every interaction with another person an interaction that matters to them, because it always matters to me whether it’s a conversation with my daughters, friends, my wife or my peers.

5. Advice for the Budding Entrepreneur

There’s only one thing you should know starting out in this business: You Can Do This. It really doesn’t matter whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert. This entire business is a process of skill development, refinement, and polish. The hardest part about starting your own business is coping with the frustrations that go along with building your future.  In life, whenever you’re growing as a person, it’s going to be frustrating. Once you learn to manage your frustrations, you’ll get through the process.

Let’s find out what your strengths are and focus on building on your strengths. There really is no need to worry about what you don’t know or can’t do. You will be called upon to do new things, which will challenge your sense of comfort. Always remember, it’s a process. I have always said, “On the other side of everything you do not want to do, lives everything you want.”

6. Advice for the Seasoned Entrepreneur

With success, we all come to realize that none of us are that good! We are only good because we’ve surrounded ourselves with great people. Some people tend to think that once they’ve reached a certain level of success, they’re special. The truth is, everyone we interact with is special. Each one is filled with incredible potential. We have the opportunity to be the person that helps them unlock that potential so they live the life they dream of.  You may earn an individual check but it is important to remember that it is a team sport. Being the leader of your team is a responsibility and blessing that will give your life great meaning.

If you haven’t reached the level of success you desire, be willing to learn and grow. This great Neora business is the place in which you can find the success you are looking for.  Your future is in front of you! Never look back. I am proud of each one of you. I am honored to serve you. I believe in you.

Always Lead,

Bo
